Mission
The goal of the Institute is the glory of God and the sanctification of priests in the service of the Church and souls through doctrinal and spiritual formation. The Institute uses the extraordinary form of the Latin Rite (Traditional Latin liturgy), Msgr. Gilles Wach having received permission from the Commission Ecclesia Dei to use the liturgical books according to the Vatican Typical Edition of 1962 when the Institute was founded. It was co-founded by Msgr. Wach and Rev. Philippe Mora. In 2004 a community of religious sisters was established which supports the work of the priests of the Institute through prayer - Sisters Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus.
Qualifications
Formation
Formation of the priests is both intellectual and spiritual. The intellectual formation is accompanied by a thoroughly human formation, which includes general culture, priestly manners, and quite an extensive amount of daily practical work in house and garden. Each candidate must learn responsibilities, and must learn how to integrate his life into the discipline that is the foundation of true charity towards others. Without any doubt the most important element in seminary life is daily contact with the Lord in the Holy Mass, the Holy Office, the Rosary, and personal meditation. The seminarians get to know not only the history and the rubrics of the Sacred Liturgy but also its inner meaning and its great power for their spiritual lives. The Institute also includes clerical oblates, who go through formation but are not ordained as priests, and who help in the several apostolates of the Institute.
