Mission
Our charism is to live a strict, or primitive, observance of the Rule of St. Francis of Assisi. Hence a radical visible poverty is a key aspect of our life as we strive to give ourselves totally to Jesus Crucified through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. We are privileged to make a fourth vow of Total Consecration to Our Blessed Mother. Prayer takes first priority in our daily activities, including regular times of solitude in remote hermitages.

Our active apostolates are evangelization and serving the poor and suffering. This is done in a variety of ways such as retreats, parish missions, hearing confessions, religious education; visiting the sick, homeless, imprisoned and pro-life work. Much of our work is with the Hispanic community, so learning Spanish is encouraged.

Other essential elements of our life are devotion to the Holy Eucharist, fidelity to the Magisterium, fraternal charity, minority, penance, manual labor and last but not least: joy.
Qualifications
A healthy, balanced personality is important but mostly a deep desire to give up all to follow the one thing necessary: Jesus Christ Our Lord.

The postulancy is from six months to one year followed by a one year novitiate. There is a minimum of three years in temporary vows prior to perpetual profession. Candidates for the priesthood live for one year as a brother after novitiate before beginning priestly studies.
